We like Ava Luna here at FP. Maybe it’s the soulful, breathy, wobbly lead vocals of Carlos Hernandez. Maybe it’s the backup singers who seem ready to battle the ladies from the Dirty Projectors. Or maybe it’s because they recorded their feel-good, fuzzed-out tunes in a Korean Methodist Church in Gravesend. For the next few months, the band will be busy, with six New York shows in May and June, including Shea Stadium, Knitting Factory, and the DIY fest Hillstock 2010.
